I’ve raved about Royale Eatery in a previous blog post, and I still rate them as having the best burger in Cape Town. But now… they have vegan milkshakes.
Address: 273 Long Street, City Bowl
Hours: 12pm-11:30pm Mon-Sat, Closed Sun
When Royale Eatery first announced their Vegan Mint-Choc-Chip milkshake, it was made from avos, and if you follow anything I do, you will know that I’m allergic to avos and bananas and have had really bad experiences with mushrooms too #worstveganever
But then they announced a NEW RANGE of vegan milkshakes… including:
- Chocolate
- Fresh Banana
- Fresh Strawberry
- Mango
- Espresso
- Strawberry & Mint
- Banana & Peanut Butter
- Chocolate & Peanut Butter
- Choc Coconut
- Choc Peppermint
The ice cream they use is made for Royale by a local company, and the base is made from Orley Whip which means it is super vegan-friendly.
Of course, as always, I had to go try one for market research purposes … and have to say that they now make THE BEST VEGAN MILKSHAKE in Cape Town in terms of taste, consistency, size, and value for money.
Their milkshakes range in price from R49-59 for a “regular” size to R112 for one of their gargantuan epic life-changing coma-inducing monsters (too much for two people to share).
I could barely finish the regular size!
Go try one (or two). I dare you.
