Heads-Up, Café Caprice, Camps Bay

Café Caprice situated on Camps Bay beachfront has dedicated vegan options on their menu! Who would have known?

Address: 37 Victoria Rd, Camps Bay

Hours: 12:30pm-2am Mon, 9:30am-2am Tue-Sat, 9:30am-12am Sun

I always thought Café Caprice catered to the young and trendy Cape Town social butterflies, but apparently, they cater for vegans too now!

For breakfast, you can tuck into (specifically vegan) gluten-free activated charcoal, coconut and banana flapjacks served with seasonal berries and dairy-free ice cream for R68, which sounds AMAZING.

And if you’re joining friends for lunch or dinner (or eating alone and people watching) then you can grab the Vegan Burger which boasts a butternut, lentil and spiced chickpea pattie, with avocado and hummus for R85. This comes with a side of skinny fries.

I am genuinely impressed on so many levels. Firstly, because vegan options are making their way into Camps Bay (trust me – there aren’t many strangely), secondly that they are clearly marked on the menu, and thirdly that they are affordable AF.

Café Caprice – Save me a seat, I’ll see you soon!

Thanks to your “Heads-Up”, we made a beeline here for breakfast on Sunday morning. The flapjacks were unusual (black and quite chewy), but very tasty. They were a little on the small size, but for the price and location, to be expected. Thanks for the tip – it’s great to be able to order straight off the menu in a trendy place like this!
