Restaurants open on a Sunday in Cape Town

What is this KAK in Cape Town about everything shutting down on a Sunday?

Yes, there are restaurants that are open (sort of generally speaking), but the places that offer DECENT vegan options seem to be few and far between.

I get messaged almost every weekend with the same question: “Where can we eat on a Sunday?

This is a very good article – We are always stumped on Sundays especially Sunday nights when we come back from an adventure and we don’t feel like cooking. I enjoy all your posts.

Just back from Backyard Cafe. Beautiful space, amazing decor and exactly one vegan option (before 12) of flapjacks – gummy, pasty flapjacks with jam in between. Usually served with bacon, so no bacon for vegans. It was pretty gross. I think it is so important to have more than one decent ‘vegan’ possibility before claiming that you are vegan friendly.

    • That sounds awful. Did you speak to the manager on duty or the owner? The place has always come very highly recommended from many reliable sources. Could it be that they were having an “off” day?

I have been in email contact with them. There is apparently another option but I was not offered it. They have been very nice about it though and have invited me back to try again. I will keep you posted.
