I recently collaborated with Daily Dish, a company that offers a weekly service of providing you and your family with four vegan meals. All the ingredients are measured and provided for in exact amounts, meaning that there is absolutely zero food waste. There are four menu cards (that you can keep for future use!) that are simple to follow. Simply put: Daily Dish keep cooking simple, and inspiring – and takes the guesswork out of trawling recipe books for inspiration.
I was fortunate enough to be given my very own box to try out, and with it came the recipes and ingredients for Garlic Chilli Tofu, Aubergine Tabbouleh, Quick Cashew Lentils and Mushroom Bean Wrap. One can order either box for two for R790 which works out to R99 per meal or the box for four for R1040 which works out to R65 per meal. Bae and I had a box for four which means we were sorted for dinners and lunches for 8 meals each. At R65 per meal that’s pretty good.
Daily Dish does all the planning and buying and provides the ingredients, premeasured in exact quantities, delivered to your front door. All you need to do is cook up amazing dinners with your partner, housemates or family. For four nights this became a sort of ‘ritual’ where we got stuck into the cooking together! The reason they provide four meals a week is simply that come Friday, most folks want to get out of the house or order some takeout. I agree!
All of the ingredients come with a “use-by” date just in case you want to swop a meal and cook it on a day other than the one prescribed. The fresh ingredients are sourced from Fairview – so they use only the very best produce. And believe me – I could taste the difference! Portion sizes are VERY generous (don’t be fooled by the pictures). I was probably the most impressed by this.
To check out what’s on the menu this week, and to maybe even purchase a Vegan Box, check out the Daily Dish website for details. You won’t be sorry! Definitely has my stamp of approval.
