Table View: your prayers have been answered! Yo Goodness Café has opened its doors and serves an almost entirely vegan menu (no meat, some dairy).
Address: 1 Marine Circle, Table View
Hours: closed Mon, 8am-4pm Tue-Sun
Firstly, its lovely to escape the city and visit an area that Cape Town city-dwellers seldom explore. With the uninterrupted view of Table Mountain from a completely different angle and the sky awash with kite surfing colour it almost makes you feel like you’re on holiday! Fortunately for us, there was space in the window when we arrived at Yo Goodness Café, so we sat there to take in the spectacular view.
Considering It’s only been open a week, it is already doing great business and the buzz from people coming and going was tangible!
The lunch menu has everything you would expect to see from burgers and nachos to open sandwiches and smoothie bowls. We decided to share the Chickpea “Tuna Mayo” Sandwich and the Nachos.

The Nachos were especially good value considering how filling they were (even when shared between Bae and me), and we polished both dishes off without arguing over who had the last piece of what. Dishes that I spotted going to other tables looked equally good.

Apparently, their gluten-free Raw Vegan Snickers Bars are an absolute win, although I haven’t had the privilege yet. This gives me an excuse it go back, however!
Breakfast prices range from R55 to R80 and lunch anywhere from R58-R85 (for the burger options). Smoothies are R70 and Smoothie Bowls R80 across the board. Extra almond milk in your coffee will set you back by R10.
I think owners Ursula and Nick have a hit on their hands. The health-conscious residents of Table View and surrounds will most likely relish this place, and for good reason!
Super food, great service, and an idyllic location. Yo Goodness Café deserves your support.
Peace xx
