I don’t know about you guys, but I’m beginning to tire of our own cooking (don’t tell Bae!) We all have our own “go-to” recipes. Still, during the lockdown, these have been recreated time and time again, and now I’m fatigued…or if you pronounce it the French way, ‘Fatty-Gay’ which is also true (thanks COVID!)
Trying to strike a balance between saving money and support local businesses and start-ups is on a lot of people’s minds, so you want to know that you’re getting something great if you do decide to order in.
Luke’s Larder is a new home business run by Luke Ellenbogen that is making and delivering fresh soups and a few other goodies. It changes every week, and not everything is vegan, but the last couple of weeks there have been at least 2 vegan soups. We tried the Sweet Potato and Coconut Curry Soup today, and it was divine!
Thick, hearty and packed full of flavour (without being spicy) it is a perfect “soup season” soup!
We also tried some of the marinated peppers, and there was a stunning balance between the sweetness and sharpness and Bae had to slap my hand away before I finished the lot.
Luke’s Larder is based in the Southern Suburbs so delivery is free to Rondebosch, Mowbray, Rosebank and Observatory and R20 to other areas. You are also welcome to collect. Orders close at noon for the following day.
You can order via the Facebook page or WhatsApp 076 208 1065.
They are also on Instagram, and the menu for the following week will be posted on their platforms.
