This is a non-foodie related heads-up but one that is certainly worth sharing.
I was probably knee-high the last time I visited Langebaan. A recent invite though from Gretta and Claire at Greystones Beach House had Bae and I venturing on our first road trip since the beginning of lockdown.
Situated just 90 minutes up the West Coast, Greystones Beach House was originally built in the 1920s. It was one of the very first homes built in Langebaan and has remained in the same family ever since. Situated right on the lagoon, a gate at the bottom of the garden allows you immediate access to the beach.
The property itself has everything you could possibly need for a much-needed break. A fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher means you barely have to lift a finger.
The braai is situated in a gorgeous sunroom, so even unpredictable weather can’t ruin your plans. There is also plenty of room on the veranda for lounging on sunny days and sipping your tipple of choice. For those colder nights, an inside fireplace keeps you toasty.
It sleeps 8 people in 4 rooms, so it is ideal for family gatherings and group get-togethers. It’s super secure, and the marvellous Yolam lives on the grounds to greet you on arrival, answer any questions you may have and to close the outside shutters for you in the evenings.
Because the accommodation was so lovely, we didn’t eat out so can’t really confirm what the vegan options are like. Apparently, Pearly’s has a vegan burger, and The Curry Bar has an option or two.
SPECIAL OFFER: for the rest of October and November, Greystones Beach House is offering all of you a ‘Stay 2, Get 3rd Night Free’ on all direct bookings via their website. On the booking request form, add CTV2020 in the Discount Code.
