We decided to celebrate lighting the first fire in our new home by opening up some bottles we had saved from lockdown (how’s that for willpower!!)
The wonderful folk at Delheim (who have a superb selection of vegan-friendly wines) sent us a care package about a year ago that we decided to save because they sounded so incredible. We cracked open the 2018 Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon, which was smooth and fruity with a hint of pepper. A good one to pair with food or to enjoy solo.
Now here is where it got fascinating for me- Dessert Wine!! Where have you been all my life??!! Wine snobs, don’t judge – I love it so much that I’ll drink it with anything.
The 2019 Edelspatz Noble Late Harvest is honestly exquisite! Honeysuckle with some orange and peach flavour melts in the mouth and leaves you feeling warm and dreamy. We paired ours with the Biscoff Cheesecake from Vegan Streetfood, and they were the perfect partners.
Check out the rest of their range at www.delheim.com, or better still, visit the farm for a tasting! You won’t be sorry.
