Wild Sprout, new branch in Constantia

I’m a long-time fan of Wild Sprout. Since discovering them in their early days on Loop St to their relocation to Kenilworth, they have always been consistent in their quality. The local folk of Constantia now have a branch on their doorstep, having opened a second venue at Constantia Village.

It’s a beautiful, light, airy space with plenty of seating inside and out. In addition to the eatery, Wild Sprout has a grocery section (similar to the one in Kenilworth), which offers healthy food and household products from some of our best local producers.

The predominantly vegan/vegetarian menu covers breakfasts, sarmies, health bowls, salads, wraps and burgers, fresh juices, smoothies and smoothies bowls. Healthy, nutritious food is what it’s about at this gem of an eatery.

There was plenty to choose from, which left us drooling over the menu, but we eventually opted for the new Vegan Club Sarmie and Poke Bowl.

The Vegan Club Sarmie comes on toasted sourdough with vegan chicken, tofu bacon, vegan mozzarella, lettuce, tomato and mayo. It was stunning!

The Poke Bowl was a beautiful collection of ingredients, bursting with colour and flavour – tamari tofu, edamame, cucumber, carrot ribbons, avo, pineapple, pickled ginger, quinoa, radish, crispy onions and a ginger miso tahini dressing.

Both dishes were excellent. There is nothing to critique or improve on in terms of their offering. Everything else we witnessed coming out of the kitchen looked great, and the environment was relaxed. The staff and service were excellent, and prices were good for the quality and standard of food.

Long may it thrive!
