Wake and Bake – Bespoke Catering

My family decided to have a VEGAN CHRISTMAS last year, and so we asked Wake and Bake to cater a full spread of Christmassy delights.
They certainly made the event, and my family still raves about it to this day.

We recently went to stay with my Mom, and to avoid cooking in a strange kitchen (and fights over washing dishes), we sought the help of Megan and Ruhan of Wake and Bake once again to cater for us for the whole weekend!

The process was simple: I sent Megan as WhatsApp that included our dislikes and allergies, and she came back with several options for breakfasts, lunches, dinners and desserts. We then chose the menu from the options presented, and Megan sent us a quote which (based on what we decided) worked out to R85 a meal each, with delivery (and no hidden costs).

I will sum this up on one sentence: EVERY SINGLE MEAL was absolutely superb, and the portion sizes were HUGE. My Mom didn’t finish a single meal (so I had leftovers for two days afterwards).

Here are some highlights:

Refried cumin-spiced black beans with roasted sweet potatoes, basmati rice, a mild coconut curry sauce and a tomato, onion and coriander salsa.
Loaded Creamy Oats topped with peanut butter ganache, roasted pecans, dates, mixed seeds and chopped apple
Creamy Chicken and Veg Puff Pastry Pot Pie served with warm pearl barley salad loaded with tiny cut veggies and a dressing.

There was also divine crispy tofu “chicken” pops, sweet chilli mayo, a variety of lettuce and red onion in a wrap with wedges accompanied by a broccoli and feta salad.

All 10/10.

If you are looking for ANY kind of catering (sweet or savoury), I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND the services of Megan and Ruhan of Wake and Bake

Tell them what you want, and they will make it happen! Bespoke meals or creations is their speciality!
